Allowing someone into this space is a big commitment and we don't underestimate that decision at all. UNDERSTANDING YOUR BRAND + BUSINESS

Nobody will ever fully understand your business as you do - that's what makes it unique. You are your businesses biggest USP. We can advise, educate and inform, but we will never proclaim to know your business as you do.

Lisa May will amerce herself within your values, vision and passion and will always offer an honest and experienced opinion. But there is a reason why we call it a partnership; we will both bring valuable insights to the table. First and foremost, this is your business.

Are you incredibly busy and working incredibly hard but at times feel like you're pushing water uphill? With Lisa May you will still have to work hard, but you'll be working smarter, more efficiently and with more structure. 

Each partnership is unique to your set objectives and your style as a business owner - they are moulded to serve each project specifically. No two are the same. At the end of the working sessions, we will set clear actions and timelines. Lisa May be with you every step of the way, motivating and empowering you to make the changes within your business that will lead you to success.

CLIENT + CONSULTANT CONFIDENTIALITY

It goes without saying that anything discussed or shared with Lisa May about your business is covered by the Law of Confidentiality. Some businesses do not like to share that they are acquiring support for their business; it is a personal decision. This is honoured throughout the entire process and continues after.

There will be no mention of you or our workings on any platform. I will ask at the end of our partnership for feedback and this content will be used as marketing, but all information can remain anonymous.

ACCOUNTABILITY OF A CONSULTANT

Accountability is a large piece of the pie when it comes to gaining the support of a consultant. Experience, advice and knowledge are a given, but it is the action you take based on that information that creates results. You may have a million other things to do the night before working sessions, but you'll want to get that last little task ticked off ahead of our call. Without that accountability, your business priorities will always come last on the list.

Embrace that feeling of knowing you need to get things done. The only one to benefit from that commitment is you, your family, your business and your staff.

COMMITMENT TO YOUR CONSULTANT

Without sounding too teacher-like, there does need to be a level of respect between client and consultant. If/when life does get in the way, and you aren't able to be as prepared as you'd like, just ensure that you connect and share transparency.

We are all human. Life (especially over the last 18 months!) is tough and unpredictable. We are able to support you far better if there is a good level of communication and respect. This is a partnership and one where we are both striving for the same goals. We will achieve far more with an open line of communication.

STRUCTURE OF OUR PARTNERSHIP

There are no quick wins in life, let alone retail. It's an ever-evolving market in which you always have to be planning. For this reason, all partnerships are for a minimum of six months.

We will meet via Zoom for the working sessions, on a reoccurring schedule. We see the most success with clients that keep to the same session time each week - it allows you to build a routine and manage your time and deadlines efficiently.

Our clients often mention the feeling of "that night before my homework is due". This is intentional. Accountability to make the changes needed is a big part of the process.

Allocating time for your business development is crucial. You have to set yourself up for success - prioritising the time means you are ready to make changes. 

Outside of the sessions, you have Monday-Friday access to email, Voxer and your bespoke Notion portal. 

The Process

STEP ONE /

The first step is booking your initial 30-minute consultation. We'll then decide together whether you would benefit more from weekly, bi-weekly or monthly sessions. This is dependant on several things, such as:

- The time you can commit to the project.
- The timescale in which you want to achieve results.
- The range of projects you want to cover throughout our partnership.
- The level of accountability you feel you need.

Some business owners are happy to have one session per month and know they have the accountability and motivation to drive their success. Others know that in order to see the results they want, they need a more regular connections to keep them on track.

STEP TWO /

Once we have decided a schedule together, we'll set you up with:

- Outlooks for all of your sessions.
- Induction documents for your Voxer set-up.
- Your induction questionnaire.

STEP THREE /

Once all documents are signed, you will get access to your bespoke Notion Portal. This is the main hub of our partnership; all session details, pre-work and post-session work will be built from this portal. We will use the platform extensively during our partnership but it will then become the hub of your business moving forward. Think marketing, content, documentation, calendars and so much more. 

STEP FOUR /

Before our first session, you will complete any pre-work. There will be a large focus on pre and post-session tasks, throughout our partnership, to ensure we continue to progress to our objectives. You will have the ability to connect via Voxer and email continuously when you need support. The working zoom sessions are a place where we brainstorm, plan, pull in other team members and create ideas - which we then collectively execute between sessions.

Timelines

Your business is complex and unique - it makes sense that any consultancy support is bespoke in the same way. In order to break down the topics we cover within my programmes into manageable chunks, all retail support can be booked for 6 or 12 month programmes. 

At the start of each programme, we collectively decide what objectives we want to cover in your chosen timeframe. You'll be provided with a detailed planner and will have pre and post session work before and after every call. 

Further email and Voxer support is available during office hours to help keep you on track and support and guide you with any questions that might come up during our time together.

Financial Investment

OPTION ONE /

Sessions: 90-minutes; monthly.

Investment: £495; monthly.

OPTION TWO /

Sessions: 60-minutes; bi-weekly.

Investment: £995; monthly.

WILL YOU UNDERSTAND MY BRAND?

You are your brand. And any successful consult will call upon you, your experience and your past learning to guide them on the ins and outs of your business. It is not the responsibility of the consultant to understand the brand, but it is through the partnership that you will educate each other.  

HOW WILL I KNOW IF NOW IS THE RIGHT TIME?

I always ask, are you ready? Are you ready to make a change? Many clients are often so clear that "something needs to change", though they don't know what it is - that's our job! They are at the point where change is needed and they're ready to leap. It's a mindset shift of wanting to make a change vs needing to make a change.

WILL I HAVE TO SHARE MY BUSINESS FINANCES?

How transparent you are in terms of your sales and finances is up to you. If you are not looking to delve into gross and net profits, we can still work efficiently without sharing the details. That being said, there needs to be a level of visibility if one of your goals is to improve profits, protect margins or increase the overall profitability of your business.

WHAT IF I FEEL LIKE I'M BEING PUSHED IN THE WRONG DIRECTION?

Consultancy is a partnership. Without sounding clichè, it's a journey. There are no quick wins. We believe in creating a successful business that grows sustainably. One that you will always be able to maintain. This all comes down to the partnership we will create to achieve what we both think is the best course of action to take. You will guide this journey just as much as we will.

WHICH SCHEDULE WOULD BE BEST FOR ME?

Initial discovery calls are tailored to answer this very question, but it largely depends on your style as a business owner. If you opt for 90-minute monthly calls, a lot of the work is done more independently. On the other end, if you choose the 60-minute bi-weekly sessions then the majority of the work is completed during that 1:1. Most of your post-session work will be putting into practice the work we've done in session.

HOW WILL I KNOW IF I'M BETTER SUITED TO  A HIGHER LEVEL OF RETAIL SUPPORT, SUCH AS THE AGENCY?

The Agency is tailored to established businesses that are looking for a 'temporary CEO' to offer extensive professional support. This service will offer a much wider support function including our extensive team of photographers, web designers, graphic designers, paid ad experts and more - offering a holistic and refined 360 service. 
The Agency also allows us to have a far more hands-on approach to the business, we don't only inspire and educate, we also take the reins and manage the execution of our plans and goals.
